Financial and Energy Diaries in Uganda (FEDU)

Diaries: June 2016 – April 2017

Country: Uganda

Sample size: 588 participants

We are conducting a financial and energy diaries research in Uganda. 588 respondents are being interviewed in 12 districts, namely, Mbale, Manafwa, Tororo, Jinja, Iganga, Mayuge, Mukono, Buikwe, Kayunga, Mbarara, Ntungamo and Sheema.

The diaries interview the respondents about their finances, how much they spend, whether they save, take loans, and whether they make investments. We also ask them about the energy sources they use, how they obtain these, how much these cost and/or how much time it costs, how much energy benefits they get (e.g. hours of light) and what side effects these have (smoke, heat).
